Hello everyone! I'm finally finding time to update you guys on me! As you all know from Niki's last posting, I am having menstrual like cramps, and they have continued, BUT not changed. Our OB thinks this is business as usual with twins, and isn't worried in the least. He did tell me if I start have consistent global contractions, to call ASAP! So far none of that. Which is good, because we need to get to 34 weeks so we can deliver closer to home, near our families and especially my two boys! I am still working 3 days a week in surgery, my co-workers are good to me and don't push me, I suspect I'll owe them big when this is over ;-)
Can you believe this pregnancy is just hours away from 33 weeks! I find that thrilling for multiple reasons, first and foremost these babies will be healthy and well! Second of all Niki and J are going to get to give Myles siblings, and love these boys to pieces. As it turns out I'm also getting excited to rid myself of heartburn, move a bit easier and enjoy a stiff drink after all is said and done. (Don't get me wrong I've enjoy this pregnancy, but it is about that time) After all my uterus is measuring 45 weeks, so walking around 5 weeks overdue takes a lot from a person, lol!
I hope you are all well, and as always thank you for supporting Niki during this journey, you are an amazing group of people who all deserve the best!

As somebody already measuring 39 weeks at 35 weeks, I don't know how you do it! You're amazing. I'm hoping that the cramping goes away altogether, and that contractions wait another week and change!
Hi K!
I have been wondering how you and Niki are doing - so glad that uterus is just irritated and that you are closer to 34 weeks (we too want to make it to 34 weeks so that M can deliver in her home town hosptial and not in the big city - only 14 more weeks to go - but who is counting). Wow you are still working! That is amazing of you!! You are doing fabulous and I am looking forward to seeing those little babies.
take care
You are the amazing one K, keep up the great work!!!! I"m glad those boys are still baking and giving you a little trouble with the heartburn. :)
Hang in there, K! You're doing such an outstanding job. I know these cramps have been super annoying and somewhat scary....but you're handling them like a champ.
Just think! Myles' brothers are almost here! I can't wait to "meet" them. =)
K, you are a star! I can only imagine how you must be feeling, and your good humour is superb. I am sooooo excited to see Myles' little brothers!
K, your post made me all teary. Maybe it's because we don't hear from you often - it's soooooo nice to hear from you and that you're doing so well. I can only begin to imagine what it's like lugging that belly around, but what you've done for your cousin is the most generous spirited thing a person could ever do for another. If there was such a thing as a celestial star chart, yours would be full. These boys are lucky to have you all in their lives.
YOU GO GIRL!!!! I have been having menstrual like cramps on and off for about two weeks now - but they are not causing any cervical changes to that is good - my goal is making it as far as I can! I have horrid heartburn too - and I cannot wait to eat some sushi - it can all wait because I want these babies to cook, cook, cook!
GREAT JOB K! Your doing so awesome and I totally hear ya on the 45 week uterus. So done, so ready for your body back and yes, the freedom to drink...and tie your own shoes.
Just a little more ways to go...I'm rooting for all of you!
Thanks for updating us! I had cramps for a while with my 1st pregnancy. I ended up delivering at 39 weeks. You can do another week!! :)
So good to hear from you K! I'm glad that things are continuing to go well and that the OB isn't too worried about the cramping. I guess it's just a little crowded down there, huh?
Hang in there kiddo, you're doing an amazing job.
And where is the pictorial proof of this 45 week belly anyway? :)
K- I have been following your journey for most of the pregnancy, and am so excited for all of you. I'm also the mom of twin boys born via surrogacy. Our story is somewhat similar to Niki's. After years of infertility treatments, we got pg with donor embryos. Our son was born prematurely, and had a heart defect. He died when he was 9 month and 12 days old. We were beyond devastated when he passed away. I lost my uterus when he was born, but we still had some donor embryos frozen. We turned to surrogacy, and I can't begin to tell you what a gift these boys have been. Not just for us, but for our families and friends, and even strangers who just love to see twin babies (be prepared Niki - it takes an hour to get through the grocery store just to pick up 4 things :)). I can't describe the joy that our surro gave us, with this selfless gift. Who knows what changes these boys will bring to the world? Your generous heart and gift will touch so many people. I hope that you're able to keep those babies cooking a little longer, but know that you've done a fantastic job!! Congratulations to all of you!!!!
Like everyone else - I can't wait to see pictures of the new arrivals!
((hugs)) to all of you!
Lori
Keep doing great... everyone!
