Birth Certificates

After 8.5 months we finally received the boys' birth certificates that list me as the mother and J as the father. We had hoped for a pre-birth order (PBO), but the judge wanted DNA testing after the boys' arrival. We did that and jumped through the other hoops to finally have the official documents in our possession. I knew all along the boys were ours and that K wouldn't be contesting that, but it's still nice to have the official documents. It feels like the final step in the surrogacy journey. I feel so fortunate to have had such a great experience with surrogacy and hope that others who take this path to their children find similar success. Life is good!

Congratulations! It's hard to deny that the boys are yours since Silas looks just like J and Liam looks just like you. It's good to have the legal documents though. Enjoy!

So glad your story has had a happy ending. I just watched your video of Myles and sobbed my heart out. I am currently 6 weeks pregnant as a surrogate mum for a couple with a very similar story to yours, they too lost their first child, but at one day old. I am hoping for them that they too have a happy ending. Enjoy being parents, you both really deserve to be, your boys look so cute xxx

I have read a little through your journey and I feel like we have had somewhat similar experiences. First of all, I am sorry about the loss of Myles. He is a handsome little man, that's for sure. I delivered my son at 29 weeks due to severe preeclampsia. He is 3 years old now and perfect as can be. I then had a miscarriage in 2009. I got pregnant with twin girls in February of this year and delivered them at 26 weeks on July 24, 2010, again due to severe preeclampsia. They were both perfect when they were born and did not have any major problems due to being premature, however Scotlyn had a ruptured bowel and lost her battle after 4 days and Reese developed bacterial pneumonia and lost her battle after 10 days. We are going to pursue surrogacy and even though you have traveled a long road to get here-you do have a great surrogacy story and it gives me true inspiration for our next journey. Your boys are adorable! I have a website that I started to keep people updated while I was pregnant with twins and have blogged a little since we lost them www.caringbridge.org/visit/wymantwins. My email is nurse4kids81@hotmail.com if you have to time to respond:) Kim
