Only 12 more sleeps ...

... until the big ultrasound! The date of the u/s is 10/20. It's early in the morning, which means it will be here even sooner! We're all anxious for the day to get here and are hoping that the babes cooperate with us, so we can get a peak at the goods!

Thanks for being so wonderful and understanding. I'm feeling much, much better today. I think I was just having one of those days. Like I told K most of the time I don't spend much time thinking about what it would be like to have the babies inside of me. Most of the time I'm thinking about what a relief it is to have K carrying the babes because I don't have to worry about them (okay I still worry, but not about something going wrong wtih K's penthouse uterus). I know that K's uterus is a healthy, nurturing, and safe place for the babies to grow and develop. I guess it's just like anything you grieve sometimes it crops up and hits you unexpectedly.

I'm letting the cat out of the bag to my students on Monday. It's getting hard to whisper to my colleagues about the babies, so I decided it's time. I'm nervous, but excited at the same time. I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.

I can't wait! I am so excited to find out also :)
I had to comment on your use of "sleeps" instead of "days"... My DS used "sleeps" until he was about 9, so it caught my attention right away.
Glad you are feeling better, we all have blah days where things get us down {{{HUGS}}}

It has to be a crazy roller coaster - you are amazing.

I am looking forward to 10/20 too! I will be in Missouri for my stepson's graduation from boot camp but I will have my computer!

Don't you mean you'll tell your students on Tuesday? Monday is Columbus Day. ;-)

Niki I'm glad you are feeling better! I can't imagine the roller coaster you've been on and I think it's totally normal to feel upset sometimes about not being able to carry them. But OMG you are going to get two beautiful babies out of K's penthouse (btw that cracked me up, LOL) and it will be amazing. I'm thinking girl/boy......

I just read your previous post and now this one. I can't imagine how these feelings could not creep in at some points. Not carrying your babies is a loss to be grieved. It doesn't mean you don't appreciate the situation you are in now one bit.

I can't wait to hear your count on the 20th. I'm thinking boy-girl. (-;

SO exciting about the big u/s!

Glad that you are feeling better, and more glad that you share the ups and the downs, it is amazing what K is doing, surrogacy is such a gift, but, for the IM there can be conflict inside us, and we just work it out - you are doing great!
